Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won the 2026 Osun State governorship election, securing a second term in office.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, announced the result on Sunday morning.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) came third with 17,180 votes.
With the victory, Adeleke has secured the mandate of Osun voters for another four-year term.
A total of 15 political parties contested the election, although the Accord Party, APC and ADC emerged as the three leading contenders.
