A new political platform bringing together former governors from Nigeria’s South East has been inaugurated, with members expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
The forum, known as the South East Former Governors Forum, was formally launched in Enugu, with the Minister of Works, David Umahi, among those in attendance.
Speaking after the inaugural meeting, Umahi said the gathering marked the official emergence of a body made up of former governors from the region. He noted that the initiative is aimed at fostering unity and collaboration among experienced political leaders in the South East.
“You must have been wondering what is going on. What was going on and is still going on is that we now have the birth of a forum of former South East governors,” he said.
The formation of the forum signals a new phase of political alignment in the region, with its endorsement of Tinubu’s second term likely to shape discussions ahead of future elections.….See more
