Arsenal Miss Chance to Extend Lead to 12 Points After Bournemouth Upset

Arsenal were unable to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League to 12 points after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Gunners had moved nine points clear of Manchester City following a 2-0 victory over Everton, while City were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham, raising hopes of a wider gap at the summit.

However, in the early kick-off, it was Bournemouth who struck first, as Kroupi Jr finished from close range at the near post in the first half.

Arsenal responded before the interval, drawing level through a well-taken penalty converted by Viktor Gyokeres.

The decisive moment came late in the game when Alex Scott netted the winner for the visitors at the Emirates Stadium, dealing a blow to Arsenal’s title ambitions.

The result leaves room for Manchester City to reduce the gap if they secure victory against Chelsea on Sunday.
