‘Money isn’t everything’, TikToker GehGeh faults Peller’s marriage

GehGeh Reacts as Peller Pays Bride Price for Jarvis

Social media personality Ojaigho Prosper, popularly known as GehGeh, has reacted to the recent marriage milestone announced by TikTok creator Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, questioning whether financial success alone is enough preparation for marriage.

The reaction followed Peller’s announcement on Sunday that he had completed traditional marriage rites by paying the bride price of his partner, Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, during a family introduction ceremony.

Sharing footage from the occasion on Instagram, Peller described the event as a major personal milestone and publicly celebrated his relationship.

Responding in a post on X, GehGeh challenged supporters who defended the decision primarily on the basis of financial capability.

According to him, marriage requires broader readiness beyond economic success, including emotional, mental, physical and spiritual preparation.

“Y’all are justifying his act with ‘he has the money allow him’. But y’all failed to ask yourself if he’s ready mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually,” GehGeh wrote.

He also suggested that age and personal development should be considered before making long-term commitments, adding that he had previously advised Peller to delay marriage plans.

GehGeh further questioned whether people encouraging the move would give similar advice to younger relatives at the same stage of life.

His comments generated debate online, with some users agreeing that maturity and readiness should be prioritised, while others argued that marriage decisions remain personal and that financial independence gives individuals greater freedom to make such choices.

According to the source report, the family introduction ceremony came weeks after Peller proposed to Jarvis at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana, where she accepted the proposal.

The discussion reflects a broader conversation on social media about youth, financial success and changing attitudes toward relationships and marriage.
