NYSC Unveils Timetable For 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation programme.

According to the scheme, the three-week exercise will take place concurrently across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement issued by its Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC disclosed that prospective corps members will begin registration on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

The registration process is scheduled to continue until midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026, the same day the swearing-in ceremony will be held to formally admit participants into national service.

The orientation course is expected to run until Tuesday, May 12, 2026, marking the completion of the mandatory 21-day programme.

Activities during the orientation typically include paramilitary drills, lectures, and skills acquisition sessions designed to prepare corps members for their service year.

The scheme also advised prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to orientation camps, cautioning against night journeys.

It urged them to break their trips by 6:00 p.m. and stay overnight at safe locations such as corps lodges, military formations, police stations, or traditional rulers’ palaces before continuing their journey the next day
