The Police Service Commission (PSC) has outlined key guidelines for the 50,000 successful applicants recruited into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), detailing the next steps candidates must follow to secure their appointments.
The commission recently released the names of successful candidates after concluding the nationwide recruitment exercise, which it said was conducted in collaboration with relevant government agencies to ensure transparency, fairness, and compliance with the federal character principle.
According to the PSC, shortlisted applicants should monitor the official recruitment portal, as well as their registered email addresses and phone numbers, for updates on reporting dates and other official instructions. Candidates are expected to report to designated Police Training Institutions once the schedule is announced.
On arrival at the training centres, successful applicants will undergo medical examinations, documentation, credential verification, and basic police training. The commission stressed that candidates who fail the compulsory medical screening or do not report within the approved timeframe risk forfeiting their appointments.
Applicants have also been directed to report with essential documents, including their call-up slip, National Identification Number (NIN) slip, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slip, original academic certificates, and photocopies of all supporting documents. They are expected to wear a white T-shirt, white shorts, and white canvas shoes during documentation.
The recruitment exercise was coordinated by the PSC alongside the Nigeria Police Force, the Federal Character Commission, the Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). The commission said the multi-agency collaboration was aimed at ensuring equitable representation across the country.
The PSC further cautioned successful applicants against falling victim to fraudsters, emphasizing that the recruitment process was conducted strictly on merit. It advised candidates to rely only on official information from the commission and the Nigeria Police Force, warning that no individual can influence the recruitment process in exchange for money.
