JUST IN – Osun Decides: ‘Face your music, leave politics’ — Faleke replies Davido

The political battle surrounding the Osun governorship election has taken another turn, with House of Representatives member James Faleke responding to Afrobeats superstar Davido over an allegation that he attempted to influence the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Faleke, who represents Ikeja Federal Constituency of Lagos State, denied the allegation and said his presence in Osun was strictly to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Davido Accuses Faleke of Pressuring INEC

During the collation of results in Osogbo on Saturday, Davido accused Faleke of putting pressure on INEC to alter the outcome of the election.

The singer, who openly supported his uncle and then-governor Ademola Adeleke, wrote on X:

“Hon. James Faleke, stop putting pressure on INEC to change Osun election result. Respect the wishes of Osun people. We don’t want Oyetola and AMBO.”

The allegation came amid heightened tension as INEC officials continued the collation of results from across the state.

Faleke: ‘Face Your Music’

Responding on Sunday through his verified X account, Faleke rejected the accusation and said he had never influenced or rigged an election.

He also pointed out that Davido had been campaigning for Adeleke, who contested the election under the Accord Party.

“I have never influenced or rigged before and I don’t plan to start now. Face your music while we face our politics.”

Faleke added that his role in Osun was simply to support his party’s candidate.

“I came to Osun to support my party’s candidate, while you supported your uncle’s party (Accord). INEC is a body that can’t be influenced by me or anyone else,” he said.

The exchange came as the Osun governorship election produced a closely contested result.
